Under the supervision of attorneys, case managers assemble family- and humanitarian-based immigration applications as part of the overall legal team. They will work with clients to obtain necessary information and supporting documents, complete forms, perform research, write persuasively, and serve as the primary point of contact on cases they are assigned.

The position requires a strong commitment to our clients and the immigrant community. Candidates must be able to empathize with our clients and demonstrate effective communication and customer service skills. Candidates should be able to demonstrate comprehension of both written and spoken English and Spanish, attention to detail, time management skills and ability to work independently.

Good News!

Venezuelan migrants in the U.S. as of July 31 can sign up for Temporary Protected Status. Homeland Security officials estimate that roughly 472,000 more people will now be eligible for work permits.

Employment Authorization Documents

Since May of last year, USCIS has granted automatic extensions of 540 days for timely filed work permit renewals, but they are switching the policy back to the usual extension of 180 days starting on October 27, 2023. If you can, file your work permit renewals before October 23, 2023, to take advantage.

Desde mayo del año pasado, USCIS ha concedido extensiones automáticas de 540 días para renovaciones de permisos de trabajo presentadas a tiempo, pero están cambiando la política de nuevo a la extensión habitual de 180 días a partir del 27 de octubre de 2023. Si puede, solicite sus renovaciones de permisos de trabajo antes del 23 de octubre de 2023 para aprovechar de esta ventaja.

El 21 de junio el Departamento de Seguridad Nacional anunció la extensión de las designaciones del Estatus de Protección Temporal de:

- El Salvador de 18 meses, del 10 de Sep., 2023, al 9 de Marzo, 2025 (período de reinscripción de 60 días desde Julio 12, 2023, a Sep. 10, 2023);

- Honduras de 18 meses, del Enero 6, 2024, hasta 5 de Julio, 2025 (período de reinscripción desde el 6 de Noviembre, 2023, hasta el 5 de Enero, 2024)

- Nepal de 18 meses, del 25 de Dic, 2023 hasta el 24 de Junio, 2025 (período de reinscripción desde el 24 de Oct, 2023 hasta el 23 de Dic., 2023);

- Nicaragua de 18 meses, del 6 enero, 2024, hasta 5 de Julio, 2025 (período de reinscripción desde el 6 de Nov, 2023 hasta el 5 de Enero, 2024).

Los beneficiarios de Estatus de Protección Temporal, TPS (por sus siglas en inglés), existentes, que deseen ampliar su estatus, deben volver a inscribirse durante el período de reinscripción de 60 días para la designación de su país.

Si usted es de El Salvador y actualmente tiene Estatus de Protección Temporal (TPS): Aunque su permiso de trabajo se ha auto-extendido hasta el 30 de junio de 2024 ¡debe volver a registrarse entre el 12 de julio de 2023, y el 10 de septiembre de 2023 para mantener Estatus de Protección Temporal (TPS) hasta el 09 de marzo de 2025!

Dear RKL clients and family,

On June 21, 2023, Department of Homeland Security announced the extension of Temporary Protected Status designations of:

- El Salvador for 18 months, from Sept. 10, 2023, through March 9, 2025 (60-day re-registration period from July 12, 2023, through Sept. 10, 2023);

- Honduras for 18 months, from Jan. 6, 2024, through July 5, 2025 (60-day re-registration period from Nov. 6, 2023, through Jan. 5, 2024);

- Nepal for 18 months, from Dec. 25, 2023, through June 24, 2025 (60-day re-registration period from Oct. 24, 2023, through Dec. 23, 2023); and

- Nicaragua for 18 months, from Jan. 6, 2024, through July 5, 2025 (60-day re-registration period from Nov. 6, 2023, through Jan. 5, 2024).

Existing TPS beneficiaries who wish to extend their status must re-register during the 60-day re-registration period for their country’s designation.

If you are from El Salvador and currently hold TPS: Although your work permit has been auto-extended through June 30, 2024, you must re-register between July 12, 2023, and Sept. 10, 2023 in order to maintain TPS through March 09, 2025!
