Insurance companies like to characterize a case as either minor or major based on the damage to the vehicles. At Bush Injury Law we focus on the person, understanding that even, "minor" impacts can cause serious injuries. This case is a perfect example. Here, our client was involved in a simple rear-end collision, but immediately began experiencing severe pain in his lower back. Subsequent imaging revealed he sustained a severe disc herniation in his lumbar spine. Our office advocated that the client's injuries, not the damage to his car, was the determining factor in valuing his claim. The results speak for themselves.

Our client was driving on I-25 in Albuquerque when her vehicle was struck by a tire that became dislodged from a commercial vehicle. Our office was able to prove that the wheel assembly and tire showed obvious signs of a lack of maintenance and that the motor carrier failed to comply with multiple federal and state regulations regarding pre-trip inspections. The result was our client, who sustained relatively minor injuries, was able to recover a subtantial amount more than she may otherwise have been entitled to.

I believe the old saying of "have character, don't be one," is especially applicable to my profession.

When most people think of injury lawyers, they probably picture the mascots they see on billboards and TV. From a marketing standpoint, I understand why some lawyers choose to advertise this way. It is memorable and therefore, effective.

But that is not the brand I want to build for Bush Injury Law . I don't want to be known for a catchy jingle or a silly mascot, even if it means I am less successful than other firms. Instead, I would simply like to be known for the care and dedication I show each and every one of my clients. If at all possible, I would like to be known as my clients describe me:

". . . a great attorney . . . a wonderful person."

". . . a genuine and helpful person."

One year ago today, I left a high salary position to open my own law firm. At the time, I was not sure where my cases would come from or how I would earn a living. I spent the first week putting together furniture and not much else.

It was one of the scariest decisions I've ever made.

At the risk of sounding arrogant, I've always believed I was worth more than what others were willing to pay me. I got tired of trying to convince others of this, so I decided I would go out on my own and prove what I was worth.

More importantly, I believed I had accomplished all that God had wanted me to accomplish in my previous position. I felt led by Him to make this transition and I trusted that He would provide.

I didn't take a pay check for six months. Were it not for the love and support of my wife, Karla Rosales-Bush, I never would've been able to pursue my dream. Not many women would've allowed their husbands to quit a job like I had, much less bear the financial burden of the household all by theirself. But Karla supported me every step of the way, always encouraged me, and never made me to second guess my decision.

Today, I have around 50 current clients and they are the best part of what I do! Working in the insurance and corporate world for several years, I did not often have the oppurtunnitty to help people or feel appreciated. Now, I get regular oppurtunitties to help people in my own communitty. Insurance claims and lawsuits can be a scary process. Most of the people I meet with have never been through anything like it. All they want is to stop hurting and to be treated fairly. I have the honor of being the lawyer to guide them through that process and to fight for what they deserve.

The clients are always so grateful! You can see it in the reviews they leave. I am so proud of the positive feedback and the kind words my clients have to say about me and my firm. I know what they struggled through and I know how much hard work it took to earn their praise.

I just want to say thank you to every lawyer, friend, family member, and client that has supported me this past year. Our growth has been almost entirely referral based. I am incredibly grateful for the trust each of you have shown in me and this firm.

Thank you again, Karla. You are my "secret weapon" - your talent, support, and guidance have made this possible. You are the best teammate I could ever ask for in this life. I love you.

Finally, all glory and credit goes to my Maker. He has blessed me with abundance and grace that I could have never earned. When things got hard - and they did - God never failed to provide a way.

If anyone reading this is unsure about pursuing a dream. If you are scared, hesitant, or unsure of yourself. I'd encourage you to have faith and go for it! I am so very happy that I did.
